The fact that First Lady Melania Trump chose cyberbullying to be the focus of her “Be Best” campaign is now laughable. Considering the First Lady should have been well aware of her husband’s Twitter activity before she chose this to be the focal point of her time in the White House, one has to wonder if Melania is just as disconnected from reality as her husband.
It’s gotten much harder for Melania to ignore Donald Trump’s Twitter attacks over the last few days, as the president has chosen George Conway, the husband of Kellyanne Conway, as his new Twitter victim. The president has called George the “husband from hell” and a “loser” in a VERY public Twitter feud and has now come under fire for his behavior. All eyes are currently on Melania to see if she will FINALLY address her husband’s online bullying, as she has steered clear and deflected from any reasonable response in the past.
Trump is also ignoring the fact that he’s pretty much ruining any credibility the “Be Best” campaign might have left. Earlier today, the president was confronted by a reporter about how his attacks on George Conway fell in line with his wife’s anti-bullying initiative, and let’s just say that his response did NOT make things any better for the First Lady. Trump refused to give any sort of acceptable answer and instead insulted Kellyanne’s husband further, calling him a “whack job” who was doing “a tremendous disservice to a wonderful wife.” Watch the video below:
Asked how his tweets attacking George Conway fit first lady Melania Trump’s “Be Best” campaign, Pres. Trump tells @ABC News’ @karentravers “He’s a whack job” who is “doing a tremendous disservice to a wonderful wife… I call him Mr. Kellyanne.” https://t.co/yfiNITzx1m pic.twitter.com/GsppqDdF6Z

No president should act like this — but then again, Trump should not be president.
