While Donald Trump is making the Fourth of July all about himself, President Barack Obama tweeted out an inclusionary message for all Americans. Trump, a former reality show star, is concerned that an “embarrassingly tiny crowd” will show up for his ego-rally today. Trump plans to deliver remarks from the Lincoln Memorial as part of the Fourth of July festivities, that include military aircraft flyovers by the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels, a jetliner used as Air Force One, and military tanks.
This morning, Trump appears to have forgotten the name of Air Force One, the designation of any airplane that serves while the President of the United States is on board. This tweet was deleted, then corrected, by the way, but the Internet is forever.
Irony is dead:
“Aircraft One” is what Putin’s plane is known as in Russia. https://t.co/cmJ70MDyrA

While Trump is begging people to show up at his Independence Day ego-rally, President Obama tweeted a beautiful, nonpartisan message that included a photograph of his family.
Happy Fourth of July, everybody! This is always a great day in the Obama family: a chance to celebrate America—and Malia’s birthday, too. Hope all of you are able to get some time with friends, family, and fireworks. pic.twitter.com/Gn9kVCCnuf

Thank you, Mr. President, for knowing what #July4th is for. I took it for granted a U.S. President would.

I don’t think we realized just how lucky and fortunate we were to have him as our president. To say I miss him is a huge understatement…

Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) — the first Republican to call for Trump’s impeachment — on Thursday announced he’s leaving the Republican Party and becoming an Independent. It’s worth noting that Amash chose the Fourth of July to announce his departure from the GOP — and that triggered Donald Trump, who predictably called him a “total loser.”
Great news for the Republican Party as one of the dumbest & most disloyal men in Congress is “quitting” the Party. No Collusion, No Obstruction! Knew he couldn’t get the nomination to run again in the Great State of Michigan. Already being challenged for his seat. A total loser!

We need a strong national defense, but a president shouldn’t need it next to him in a parade to show his patriotism.
— Hillary Clinton (@HillaryClinton) July 4, 2019
Happy Fourth of July, Mr. President. No, not you, Trump. Sit the fuck down. We’re talking to our last legitimately elected President.
