Vice President Mike Pence just dropped a bombshell on America in a recent interview with CBS News’ Face The Nation. While the full interview has yet to air (it will be released in its entirety on Sunday), the teaser alone is going to raise eyebrows.
The Vice President has been under a bit of pressure lately since Donald Trump has been flipping out about the damaging New York Times op-ed, frantically trying to find out which one of his senior officials is behind it. Pence’s office came up as one of the rumored sources of the op-ed, so the VP was clearly nervous about it and decided to try and save his a** in this interview – because there is no excuse for what he said.
One of the most stunning parts of the NYT op-ed was this, regarding Trump’s mental instability and how unfit he was for office:
Early whispers within the cabinet of invoking the 25th Amendment, which would start a complex process for removing the president.”
When CBS News’ Margaret Brennan addressed that statement and asked Pence if he’d ever thought of invoking the 25th amendment to remove Trump from his role in the White House, Pence said this:
No, never. And why would we be Margaret?”
Oh my god. Pence was either taking the cowardly way out, he is just as insane as his boss. Pence said:
The truth of the matter is over the last eight years despite what we heard from President Obama on Friday, I mean this country was struggling. I mean it was the weakest economic recovery since the Great Depression.”
Pence also trashed the New York Times for the op-ed:
I think the author of the anonymous editorial, and frankly the New York Times, should be ashamed.”
The fact that Pence would say he’s never questioned Trump’s fitness for office – with a straight face – is outrageous. Pence is every bit as dangerous as Trump, but at least he’s not a moron – or is he? After seeing this response, maybe we were wrong about that. You can watch the footage below:
