Donald Trump is terrified of Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) so he lashes out at her at his rallies, calling her Pochahontas to cast doubt on her Native American Heritage. Well, it appears that Warren is preparing to challenge Trump in 2020 because she just released her DNA test results that provide “strong evidence” that she has Native American ancestry, the Boston Globe reports. A video was also released in which she discusses her upbringing and a link to a new “fact squad” website that seeks to debunk critics of her heritage. Because this is literally the only thing Republicans have to criticize Warren over. It’s been their one point. She’s an anti-corruption warrior so they really should be afraid of the Massachusetts Senator.
The DNA analysis which was conducted by Carlos D. Bustamante, a Stanford University professor, concludes that “the vast majority” of Warren’s ancestry is European, however, “the results strongly support the existence of an unadmixed Native American ancestor in the individual’s pedigree, likely in the range of 6-10 generations ago.”
In the video, Warren talks of her family history.
“My mother was born in eastern Oklahoma,” she says. “It had been Indian territory until just a few years earlier when it had become a state. My daddy always said he fell head over heels in love with my mother the first time he saw her.”
She then notes that her father’s parents were “bitterly opposed” to a marriage because her mother’s family was partly Native American. So the couple decided to elope, she says.
You know who does have a dubious Native American heritage? As it happens, Republican Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s brother-in-law scored a $7 million no-bid contract based on his Native American ancestry — however, he’s not a Native American.
We look forward to Trump calling him Geronimo at his rallies and on Fox News.
At a rally in Montana this past July, Trump offered Warren $1 million if she took a DNA test to prove her heritage. Trump spoke of bringing a DNA test to a debate if she challenges him and at the same time, he mocked the #MeToo movement.
“We will take that little kit — but we have to do it gently. Because we’re in the #MeToo generation, we have to do it gently,” Trump said. “And we will very gently take that kit, and slowly toss it, hoping it doesn’t injure her arm, and we will say: I will give you a million dollars to your favorite charity, paid for by Trump, if you take the test and it shows you’re an Indian.”
Pay up, President Loony Tunes.
